Masai Mara game reserve is one of the most popular and spectacular tourist destinations in Kenya contagious with Serengeti in Tanzania. It was named in honour of the Masai people, ancestral inhabitants of the area who migrated from the Nile basin. Masai Mara is one of the famous and most important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas in Africa renowned for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, cheetah and bush elephants. It also hosts great migration, which secured it as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa and one of the ten wonders of the world.
Lake Nakuru is best known for its thousands and sometimes millions of flamingos nesting on its shores alongside other bird species as it’s an alkaline lake in the rift valley and wildlife species especially the eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos.
After this trip we offer an optional 4 days exclusive Ape Trek in Uganda for gorilla and chimpanzee tracking, 1 day rafting on river Nile or 3 days Mighty Murchison falls national park in Uganda.
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara
On arrival at the airport in Kenya, you will be welcomed by the company representative for meet and greet, have a short briefing about the safari and transferred to the next destination. We shall drive down the escarpment via the Great rift valley with scenic views, arrive in Masia Mara in time for lunch. We drive down the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. We arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch. Later in the evening embark on a game drive to see different animal species in one of East Africa’s top safari destinations. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Sopa lodge, Mara springs camp, Olmoran tented camp.
Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After early breakfast you will embark on a photographic full day game drive exploring the spectacular Mara, the land of African Legend. You expect to see animals like the lions, leopards, Cheetah, Elephants, Rhino and gazelle species. The annual wildebeest migration, occurs in Mara from July to October. Masai Mara is also a home to the many Masai tribes of Kenya who are seen around the borders of the park, Morans (worriers) loping across the plains, elders discussing matters of the day under the trees. Later in the evening you can have an optional traditional cultural visit to the Masai village or Hot air balloon arranged in the morning. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Sopa lodge, Mara springs camp, Olmoran tented camp.
Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru
After early breakfast, embark on the last game drive as we proceed to Lake Nakuru known for its spectacular flamingo population and one of the world’s greatest ornithological sites. Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake in the rift valley, although its primarily a bird sanctuary, it has a considerable number of wildlife species like the zebras, giraffes, gazelles. the white Rhinos as it was the first place in Kenya to be considered as a rhino reserve. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill tented camp.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi
Early breakfast, embark on the last game drive and bird watching. Later proceed to Nairobi. You can choose to spend a night or transfer to the airport for your next flight.
