The custom circuit is a tour package with balanced attractions in Uganda which includes primates that’s the chimpanzees in their natural habitat in Kibale national park and the gorilla habituation or tracking in Bwindi impenetrable national park. This program also includes wildlife viewing in Murchison falls National Park and in Queen Elizabeth national park and after the main program we offer extensions of one day to jinja the source of the Nile for rafting, lake Mburo national park or, Mabamba birding excursion especially for the shoe bill bird.
DAY 1: ENTEBBE/KAMPALA.
On arrival at Entebbe international airport in Uganda, you will be welcomed by the company representative and transferred for overnight on BB to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel No. 5, Precious guest house, Boma Hotel, 2 friends.
DAY 2: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast you will drive North west towards Masindi. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk to see the endangered white rhinos in their natural habitat. Have lunch then proceed to Murchison falls which is the largest conservation area in Uganda with amazing scenic beauty of open savannah grassland on the Northern bank of River Nile and tropical rain forest on the Southern bank of River Nile. Depending on the time of arrival you can visit the top of the falls. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge, Bambo village, Paraa safari lodge, Parkside safari lodge.
DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS (GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FALLS).
After an early breakfast embark on an early morning game drive along the Albert Nile through the open savannah grassland on the Northen bank of River Nile where you will have an encounter with different animal species like Giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes like Uganda Kobs, Jackson hartebeest, oribi, water bucks, bush bucks, lions, leopards later have lunch. In the afternoon, have a boat cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. Here you will have a chance to see Nile crocodiles, hippos’, large herds of elephants and buffaloes as they cool their body temperatures and thirst. You will also see the spectacular falls as the water runs down in a narrow gap of 7 m wide sending 300 cubic meters of water per second as it flows west wards to the Albert Nile. Later you will do an evening game drive as you proceed to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge, Bambo village, Paraa safari lodge, Parkside safari lodge.
DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS N.P – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast drive south west kibale national park along lake Albert and the rift valley escarpments with breath taking scenic views as you drive towards Fort portal town which hosts one of the heritage sites that’s Tooro Kingdom lying beneath Rwenzori Mountain ranges in eastern equatorial Africa. Lunch enroute. In the afternoon you can do a community tour with local food and local beer experience, tea and coffee plantation visits, crater lake tours and swamp walk where you will encounter different primate species like black and white colobus, grey checked mangabey L
hoest monkeys and over 260 bird species. Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge, isunga lodge, chimpanzee guest house, kibale forest camp, rwetera safari park.
DAY 5: KIBALE N.P -QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast. Proceed to the park for briefing about the day’s activity chimpanzee tracking in their natural habitat. K.N. P with its 766 sq.km of tropical rain forest contains the highest of primates in the world which include L.hoest monkey, black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, vervet monkey, olive baboon and over 325 bird species. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon proceed to Queen Elizabeth N.P in the south western region of Uganda. Depending on the time of arrival you will have an evening game drive as you proceed to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Kasenyi safari lodge, Mweya safari lodge, Katara lodge, Ihamba safari lodge, elephant plains.
DAY 6: QUEEN ELIZABETH N.P.
Early breakfast drive to the park for game viewing where you might have a chance to see different animal species like the savanna elephants, African buffaloes, spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, antelopes like the Uganda Kobs, water bucks, then do a crater drive towards the mweya peninsular with open savanna grassland and different scenic views of the park. After lunch take a boat excursion along the Kazinga channel where animals like the elephants, buffaloes, antelopes concentrate during the hot hours of the day to chill their thirst and cool their body temperatures by wallowing their bodies in water. Other animals on the channel include the hippos, crocodiles and different bird species. You can choose to transfer to the southern sector of the park Ishasha or spend another night. Dinner and overnight at Kasenyi safari lodge, Mweya safari lodge, Katara lodge, Ihamba safari lodge, elephant plains.
DAY 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH N.P ISHASHA SECTOR- BWINDI IMPENETRABLE N.P
After breakfast drive towards Bwindi impenetrable national park through Maramagambo forest to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park Ishasha sector which is most famous of tree climbing lions which are seen during the hot hours of the day resting on fig trees. You will also have a chance to see other animals like the elephants, buffaloes, antelopes like the Topis. Lunch enroute then continue to Bwindi. Bwindi is a natural habitat for gorillas and a heritage site for its biodiversity importance. The choice of gorilla tracking depends on the availability and allocation of the permit for this activity. So, transfer depends on the location of the gorilla permit. Dinner and overnight at 4 gorillas lodge, bakiga lodge, engagi lodge and Nkuringo lodge.
DAY 8: GORILLA TRACKING.
After breakfast drive to the park for a briefing on the dos and the don’ts for a successful gorilla tracking experience and this starts at 8 am with a warm welcome of the Bakiga cultural dances from the local communities surrounding the park. This park has a population of over 400 gorillas which is half of the world’s population of the endangered mountain gorillas, 348 bird species, 220 butterflies, and 120 species of mammals. After briefing you embark on the gorilla trek in a group of 8 with the lead of the ranger guide. Ensure you carry packed lunch, enough drinking water because the time you spend on the trek for the gorillas is not predictable, hiking boots and walking sticks because of the nature of the terrain. Upon finding the gorillas you spend a maximum of 1 hour viewing them unlike with the gorilla habituation where you spend 4 hours. This whole activity takes a maximum of 8 hours depending on where the gorillas where last sighted. In the evening proceed to lake Bunyonyi Dinner and overnight at Birds nest, Arcadia cottages, Bunyonyi rock resort, Bunyonyi overland.
DAY 9: LAKE BUNYONYI – ENTEBBE
After breakfast you can choose to do a community tour to the Batwa or visit different islands on lake Bunyonyi which is about 7 km wide and 25 km long and it’s the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. Lunch enroute then proceed to Entebbe International Airport for your flight out. Alternatively, you can choose to fly out through Kigali AirPort in Rwanda with a short city tour drive in the land of a thousand hills.
